Gemstones
Gemstones, or gems, are an important topic in any jewelry discussion. It’s not just diamonds. Most gems are minerals although there are a few notable exceptions. Amber, pearls, and naturally occurring glasses are examples. To properly be called a gem they also need to have a reasonable amount of durability. Fluorite would generally not qualify for this reason. There are far to many gems to catalog them all here but I’ll write about certain ones.
